Tackle Student Loan Debt with Greenville Financial Empowerment Centers 

A free workshop will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, at Hughes Main Library, to help student loan debt holders. Financial advisors will review all student loan consolidation options, including rehabilitating delinquent loans and the various repayment options.

Fire Prevention Week Theme: Plan and Practice Your Escape

Fire Prevention Week Begins October 6

In conjunction with the National Fire Prevention Association, the Greenville City Fire Department (GCFD) will raise awareness of emergency escape planning. This year’s theme is: “Plan and Practice Your Escape.” The public is invited to participate in the following events:

  • October 9: Trivia Night at City Tavern, 128 N. Main St., starts at 8:30 p.m. The winner will receive a real fire helmet!
  • October 11: Call in a pizza order to the Domino's Pizza, 420 N Pleasantburg Drive, between 7 and 9 p.m., and win a chance to have your pizza delivered by fire truck. You'll get your pizza at no cost, along with a free smoke alarm check!
  • October 12: Stop by CrossFit Potentia, 1011-A Lowndes Road, where they will feature a fire safety workout as the "Workout of the Day (WOD)."

Greenville Dreams is a coalition of neighborhood and community leaders organized to empower residents to improve their neighborhoods through leadership development while leveraging available resources. Working in partnership with the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority, the United Way of Greenville County and the City of Greenville, Greenville Dreams focuses on facilitating positive community changes through resident-centered neighborhood development.

Greenville Dreams meets on the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at the United Way of Greenville County, 105 Edinburgh Court.
