Final Study Recommendations for Route Improvements

Greenlink will host a drop-in style open house at the Transfer Center (100 W. McBee Avenue) on August 24 to give citizens an opportunity to learn about the final Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) report. The purpose of the study was to identify improvements that would increase convenience and efficiencies for current Greenlink customers while remaining cost-neutral. Members of the public can drop in at their convenience anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Milestone presentations, which highlight data collected throughout the COA process, can be downloaded here: Milestone #1; Milestone #2; Milestone #3.

New Reduced Fare ID Program

Reduced Fare ID Card Program

Greenlink is excited to offer a new photo ID card to assist our customers who qualify for reduced fare pricing. This card is completely optional and is offered free of charge (early replacement fees may apply). It can be used to quickly let Greenlink staff know to charge the reduced rate when boarding any bus or purchasing passes for our fixed route bus service. For complete details,download

Mobile Apps

Seeking Volunteers for Beta Testing the New Greenlink App

Greenlink will be launching a new Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), which will include a smart phone app for passengers. The app will display real-time locations of Greenlink’s fixed route buses and provide travel directions and estimated travel times.
Greenlink is seeking up to 10 current passengers who ride Greenlink buses regularly to help test the app and help work out any bugs that riders may encounter. Please email if you are interested in serving as a beta tester.

New Trolleys

New Trolley Routes Launch August 3

The new trolley system will hit the roads on Thursday, August 3 at 6 p.m. Access a map of the new routes
The Arts West Route and the Augusta Route are funded through the month of October, while the Heart of Main Route and the Top of Main Route will run all year long.

Trolley hours for the new routes are:

  • Thursday: 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Friday: 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. 
Proterra Bus

Greenlink Vying for Electric Buses

A grant application has been submitted to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requesting funds to purchase six electric buses from Greenville manufacturer Proterra! This grant process is extremely competitive and transit agencies across the country are requesting assistance with the transition to alternative fuel vehicles. We can expect to hear award announcements by September 30.
