Show your Holiday Spirit by Driving Safely

Be patient, be kind.

Police are asking drivers to follow these simple safety tips so that all Greenville families can enjoy the holiday season:

  • Avoid blocking intersections
  • Refrain from aggressive driving
  • Maintain a safe speed
  • Plan your route in advance
  • Avoid distractions while driving

As the holiday season arrives, the Greenville Police Department is taking proactive steps to ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety along busy commercial corridors. Expect to see more patrols in high-traffic areas, and more police officers in busy shopping areas.

Drivers will find a series of electronic message boards strategically placed along Roper Mountain Road, Woodruff Road and Verdae Boulevard to enhance communication. These message boards will provide real-time updates on heavy traffic, remind drivers not to block intersections and guide them to utilize Parallel Parkway as an alternative route.

Parallel Parkway stretches from Verdae Boulevard to Woodruff Industrial Lane, and is strongly encouraged for motorists seeking an alternative to Woodruff Road. With three roundabouts preventing vehicle congestion and no driveway cuts, Parallel Parkway ensures a seamless flow of traffic by eliminating turns onto and off the roadway. Additionally, Parallel Parkway intersects with Green Heron Road and Ketron Court, providing easy access to major shopping destinations along Woodruff Road.
