Public Meeting on Proposed Bike Amenities
Tuesday, December 3, 2019
The purpose of the meeting is to share information about a proposed project to design and build a neighborhood-scale paved pump track and natural-surface mountain bike trails and solicit community input on the best location for the project. The meeting will begin with a formal presentation, followed by interactive roundtable discussions.
A pump track is a self-contained, looped series of undulating pathways that provide a fluid riding experience without the rider having to peddle. It can be used by most non-motorized wheeled recreational equipment and is appropriate for a variety of ages and skill levels.
Natural-surface mountain bike trails are typically constructed of materials such as wood, dirt and stones and may include ramps, banks, bridges and pump elements – all designed to mimic the type of elements and challenges a rider could encounter when mountain biking.
