The City has updated its business license ordinance, to streamline the process and become consistent with jurisdictions across the state. The changes include:
- Your business license renewal deadline will be extended to April 30, 2022
- For the 2022 renewal, you will report your gross income based on the 2021 calendar year (January-December).
- The 2022 business license renewal applications will be mailed out in late January 2022, and the City will begin receiving payments in February 2022.
Renewing Business Licenses
We’re making doing business with the City of Greenville easier and more convenient! The City has launched an online portal for payment of annual business license renewals, hospitality taxes and local accommodations taxes.
The business license application and the hospitality and accommodation letters will contain business license, hospitality or accommodation, license number, pin number and control number. Business owners should retain the license, pin and control number information because they will need this information to use the online payment portal. Meanwhile, visit the portal to review our guide to online payment.
