The Greenville City Fire Department (GCFD) has made a commitment to pursue excellence in public safety through the use of the Commission on Fire Accreditation International’s (CFAI) accreditation model. The CFAI’s accreditation model requires GCFD to conduct an on-going self-assessment, maintain a dynamic community driven strategic plan, and maintain a standards of cover document.
Through a series of on-going processes and adoption of this progressive model, GCFD can ensure that it is capable of providing world-class emergency services, while proactively mitigating the risks and dangers of the future.
GCFD is currently an applicant agency, pursuing accredited status with the CFAI. To-date, there are only 239 CFAI-accredited fire/rescue agencies in the world. Of these, only 56 are both CFAI-accredited and have a Class 1 rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO).
