Make A Request
The Greenville City Fire Department offers many safety programs and services by request. Please make your request at least seven days in advance.
Fire Extinguisher Classes
Fire extinguisher classes typically consist of a 20-25 minute video and a Q&A session, followed by a hands-on practical demonstration. Class length is determined by the number of participants. Hosts are responsible for providing a meeting room, television, and DVD player. Participants must be 18 or older.

Fire and Life Safety House
The Fire and Life Safety House is used to help educate children about various fire safety practices, including "stop, drop and roll," practicing a fire escape plan and how to meet at a predetermined location.

Fire Truck
When requesting a visit from GCFD personnel and equipment, please keep in mind that our fire trucks are active emergency vehicles, and if they receive a request for service, they will have to leave your event. If that occurs, whether or not they are able to return to your event will depend on the severity of the emergency. If firefighters do not receive a request for service, the amount of time that they can remain at the event will be at the supervisor’s discretion.

American Flag Display
Displaying the American flag is something we are honored to do, and something we take very seriously. In most cases, we will provide the American flag to be displayed. Please note that GCFD only accepts requests to display the American or South Carolina flags.

Hands-Only CPR
According to the American Heart Association, 90% of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die because they don't receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. With proper training, you can make a difference.

Smoke Alarms
The Greenville City Fire Department provides smoke alarms and installation, free of charge, to city residents.

Station Tour
Firefighters will put on turnout gear while a speaker discusses each item and how it relates to firefighter safety. All attendees must be supervised by the on-duty firefighters while visiting the fire station. One adult must accompany every five children during a station tour. A visit can be canceled without notice when an emergency occurs. Please note: GCFD policy does not allow birthday parties at fire stations.
