"BRAS FOR A CAUSE,"
"BRAS FOR A CAUSE, ” ART BRAS? What is that all about? The Artist's Guild Gallery, (AGGG) has the honor of hosting "BRAS FOR A CAUSE," the brain child of The Quilter's of South Carolina for Breast Cancer Awareness. This unusual exhibit consists of fifty original works of bra art, they are unique, entertaining, humorous, and beautiful! This is a must see exhibit, it will be exciting and fun, yet it is a tribute those who were lost to this disease, to honor its survivors, and to bring breast cancer awareness to the public.
The "ART BRAS" exhibit is traveling to galleries throughout South Carolina until October of 2009, at which time the entire exhibit (50 Art Bras) will be auctioned off with the proceeds being donated to the "Best Chance Network." The Best Chance Network is a program that helps women, ages 40 to 64, who need to be screened for breast and cervical cancer but do not have insurance, or they have insurance that only covers hospital care, having to meet with certain guidelines. There are women walking among us who have breast cancer but they won't find out until the disease has taken an aggressive effect on their bodies. Why? Because they cannot afford to be screened...
The Artist Guild Gallery, (AGGG) located at 200 N. Main St., in the heart of downtown Greenville, is proud to be the Greenville host for this exciting and worthwhile exhibit; the members of AGGG would like to thank The Quilters of South Carolina for the privilege of being a part of this fabulous, worthwhile cause. The AGGG is open 7 days a week.
AGGG have some surprises up their sleeve for the art bra reception being celebrated on Friday evening from 6 pm. till 9 pm., August, 7, 2009. Visit AGGG and view art bras with titles such as, "Mardi Gras, Tickled Pink, Lily Padded, Look at Then Melons, Still in Bloom, and Split Personality." See you there!
