Vendors in the Central Business District (CBD)
Downtown Greenville is alive and flourishing, and its wide sidewalks, lush greenery
and unique blend of shops and restaurants come together to create a pedestrian-friendly
atmosphere. In addition to traditional brick-and-mortar businesses, street vendors
also contribute to the urban landscape and can be found throughout downtown’s Central
Business District (CBD).
Vending is restricted to specific locations, but in general, vending is allowed
on public streets and sidewalks within the CBD and within 300 feet of the CBD. Types
of merchandise that can be sold by a street vendor include food, beverages, flowers,
cards, pens and regional souvenirs. The sale of clothing items other than T-shirts
or caps is not permitted.
Street vendors must submit an application for the rental of space in the CBD, and
if approved, must obtain a Street Vendor License in addition to a Business License.
For more information about street vending or to begin the application process, download
the Vendors in the CBD application.
Please note: Vendors may be asked to move to another location during special events. If you have any questions, please contact the Business License Field Supervisor
at 864-467-4504.
