Downtown Street Master Plan

photo collage of downtown scenes

The Downtown Streetscape Master Plan began in 2009 and included an extensive and collaborative visioning process for 10-miles of Downtown Greenville streets. AECOM of Orlando, FL lead the master plan by inventorying, analyzing, planning, designing, and engineering many of Downtown Greenville’s most significant corridors. One of the primary goals of the project was to extend the success of Main St. into other areas of Downtown by improving economic redevelopment opportunities, creating infrastructure that supports transportation options, and enhancing the visual character and functionality of these public streets.

In August 2011, City Council adopted the Master Plan in principle and city staff is pursuing local, state, and federal funding opportunities as well as working with the private development community to implement the plan’s recommendations.
