The Second Chance Forum is in its fifth year of providing residents with criminal records the tools and resources needed to succeed. Sponsored by Senator Karl Allen and the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, this event will include an:
Expungement/Pardon Workshop at 10 a.m.
and a Job Fair at 11 a.m.

Community Development Accomplishments

2014-2015: CDBG, HOME, and HOPWA Grant Funded Projects

During the 2014 program year, the City of Greenville’s Community Development Division
utilized its CDBG, HOME and HOPWA dollars to fund activities that were identified in our 2014-2015 Annual Action Plan. The goals, objectives, strategies, and benchmarks for the allocation and implementation of Community Development projects are based on providing the following:

• decent, safe, and affordable housing;
• a suitable living environment; and
• expanded economic opportunities.

The budget and activities of the Community Development Division are guided by a volunteer group of residents and stakeholders from local Special Emphasis neighborhoods. The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) meets quarterly, and currently has vacancies for several neighborhoods.
